ÍøÆØÃÅ Board of Trustees Approves Collective Bargaining Agreement With AFSCME

The ÍøÆØÃÅ Board of Trustees has approved a new three-year Collective Bargaining Agreement between the university and the ÍøÆØÃÅ Employees Local 153, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

Mercy Health to Purchase Land from ÍøÆØÃÅ for Future Healthcare Campus

For nearly 110 years, Mercy Health has addressed the growing needs of the Mahoning Valley, which includes the city of Warren and its surrounding communities. Mercy Health has been evaluating ways to meet the increasing healthcare needs of those living in Trumbull County, delivering on its promise of providing care when and where people live and work. As part of this commitment, Mercy Health has announced the future development of land adjacent to the ÍøÆØÃÅ at Trumbull Campus.

ÍøÆØÃÅ Board of Trustees Commends Leadership for Strong Enrollment During Pandemic, Approves New Balanced Budget

The ÍøÆØÃÅ Board of Trustees congratulated ÍøÆØÃÅ President Todd Diacon and university leaders on increased retention and graduation rates, as well as a strong Class of 2024, as official fall 2020 enrollment figures were shared at the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held Wednesday, Sept. 16.

A Message to the ÍøÆØÃÅ Community: Anti-Racism Task Force

Two recent incidents involving the painting of racist messages on the Rock located on Front Campus, coupled with the series of tragic national events this year involving the shootings of Black Americans, serve as glaring evidence that this university and our country need to do better when addressing racism and violence against Black Americans.

At ÍøÆØÃÅ, our core values of respect and kindness for all demand that we step up to become part of the conversation that leads to a solution that will dismantle the systemic racism that has plagued our communities throughout history, and our university all too recently.

ÍøÆØÃÅ’s commitment to maintaining a diverse and inclusive campus has received acknowledgement from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education, for an eighth consecutive year. INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine has selected ÍøÆØÃÅ as a recipient of the 2020 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award.

ideastream and WKSU Awarded Corporation for Public Broadcasting Grant to Explore Potential for Growth of Service in Northeast Ohio

WKSU and ideastream have been awarded a $100,000 grant from The Corporation for Public Broadcasting to explore opportunities for growth and expansion of public media service in Northeast Ohio.
